Why USDA Organic?
USDA ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
Why USDA Organic, you may ask?
Here in Canada, the term “organic” is not yet regulated. However, “certified organic” products are regulated through the Canada Organic Regime (COR) and are permitted to use the Canada Organic seal after obtaining certification through a government approved and regulated third-party organic certifying body.
Unfortunately, at this time, the Canada Organic Regime (COR) only regulates agricultural and food products, those of which are permitted to use the Canada Organic seal. This means that cosmetic products have yet to receive any organic regulation within Canada and therefore, are not permitted to display the Canada Organic seal.
Thankfully, there is a way to ensure that cosmetic products are 95%-100% organic, here in Canada. The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) is equivalent to the Canada Organic Regime (COR) and the NOP regulates organic cosmetic products in the United States and in Canada too! This is why our company proudly certifies all of our products, according to the USDA National Organic Program (NOP), through our third party organic certifier, Pro-Cert.
FACT: The USDA Organic seal is the only way to ensure that cosmetic products are safe and 95%-100% organic. The USDA Organic seal and product certification ensures that organic cosmetic products that carry this stamp are up to the same standards as food regulations since the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) doesn’t differentiate between certified organic food and cosmetics. This means that all of our USDA certified organic products from The Homemade Organics Company are as safe and healthy for you and your family as the organic fruit and veggies that you buy at your local grocery store. So go ahead and organically enjoy!
